Paul Heaton (Biscuit Boy) has completed the recording of his debut solo album, Fat Chance, and the release date has been set as 3rd September 2001.

The album is to be released by Mercury and contain's 11 tracks from the man who fronted the Housemartins and The Beautiful South. Heaton has worked on the album with former Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros members Martin Slattery and Scott Shileds.

The first single from the album is due out on 20th August and is titled "Mitch", The full track listing for the album is as follows:-

Heaton's step into the solo world does not, however, effect The Beautiful South and it is expected that the band will be touring during November to promote the forthcoming "Greatest Hits Part 2"
