Beautiful South & Peter Howson Settle Out Of Court.

The Beautiful South have settled out of court with a Scottish artist after a prolonged dispute over the artwork for their latest album.
Peter Howson, the official British war artists in Bosnia, designed the cover of 'Quench', and launched the action after seeing the image used extensively in merchandising.
Howson had not given permission for the artwork to be used in such a way and was apparently furious at seeing his work appearing on posters and T-Shirts.
His pay-out for £30,000 comes after he was given no money for the sales of the merchandising.
In a separate action, Howson also received a five-figure settlement from the publishers of Q magazine for an allegedly libellous article written by a member of the band.
