THE BEAUTIFUL SOUTH AT LIVERPOOL ROYAL COURT
17/10/98
I went to the royal court on saturday night,
to see the beautiful south what a delight,
they were good, infact good as could be,
the only drawback was i could hardly see,
They blasted out hits old and new,
love songs, ballads and rock tunes too,
it came as no surprise when jacqui sang well,
and vocalists paul and dave were absolutley swell,
The highlight of the night was definitely when,
they performed their current single perfect 10,
the crowd went wild when they heard it start,
and they all knew the words off by heart,
A mass of fans jumped merrily around,
to the Beautiful South's superb, disticntive sound,
from the very first song right unto the last,
everyone was enjoying this and having a blast,
Unfortunately the time crept quickly on,
and soon they left the stage, they were gone,
the crowd cheered loudly 'we want more',
so they came back for a double encore,
They did an oldie called good as gold,
bracketed 'stupid as mud' so im told,
then a song called 'Your Father And I'
a new one from 'Quench' before saying goodbye,
sweat ridden fans left the hall,
their facial expressions said it all,
The Beautiful South were inspiring and loud,
they did liverpool and themselves totally proud,
so until their tour in '99,
I'll keep the memories in my mind,
those precious thoughts i will save,
of what a great performance they all gave.
The best band in the world.
