The first single from the forthcoming album by the Beautiful South is to be released on 25th September 2000, A week later than the original release date of 18th September. The song "Closer Than Most" had its first playing on Hulls local radio station Viking FM on 16th August.
The single is to be released, as normal in 2 parts, With b-sides coming in the form of 2 new tracks, "Moths" and "The State That I'm In" and also 2 live tracks taken from Paul and Dave's appearance at this years Cambridge Folk Festival "The Table" and "Blackbird on the Wire".
The video to the single has been recorded at Canary Warf, London.
